Painted Hull:

Standard: All kayaks come with a painted hull.  Wave Dancer Productions uses Epifanes polyurethane - a two part saturated resin.  The paint creates a hard shell that resists scratches and minor abrasions.  This system is far superior to the gel coat on fiberglass kayaks that fades and cracks over time.

Personalization: Choose from an array of twenty-five colors or leave as natural wood.  Match your deck rigging to your hull color to have your kayak make a statement about you. (Natural hulls have an additional cost of one hundred dollars.)

    Customization: Wave Dancer Productions' staff is prepared to fully customize your kayak.  Send your multi-color scheme, any graphic that you have, or inlay design. We will send to you and your dealer a complete quote for the additional work.

Deck Rigging

             Standard:  Most kayaks come with: a chart hold-down, rescue perimeter line and rescue loops (carrying handles).  Refer to the kayak catalog pages to see what each kayak is equipped with.

            Personalization: Wave Dancer Productions offers three unique options for your deck rigging; Bare deck,  Day Trip and Touring.  Work with your dealer or email or sales team to see which option will best suit your paddling needs or what will work best with the boat that you ordered.

            Customization:  If our designs do not meet your needs send a drawing with your design to our sales team.

Hatches

            Standard: See kayak catalog for hatch cover location that comes standard on each kayak.

Personalization: Wave Dancer Productions offers four different styles of hatches:  Day hatch, flush to deck, smooth hatch and raised rim.

Customization:  Wave Dancer Productions recognizes that all paddlers do not have the same needs.  We can alter the size of the hatch covers to meet your specification, we can put the hatches in different locations (if our shop foreman approves), we can also add a day hatch, if the design permits we can use the rubber hatch system designed by Kajak Sport.  These modifications may or may not come with an added charge.

Bulkheads

            Standard: Two bulkheads are situated in the kayak to create two floatation and storage chambers.  These are placed in locations specified by the kayak designer.

            Customization: An additional bulkhead maybe added to give space for a day hatch.  The forward bulkhead may be moved to create a footrest that replaces the adjustable foot pegs.

Cockpit

            Standard:  Each cockpit is sized for the kayak it is placed in.

            Personalization: Wave Dancer Productions understands that each paddler may have a different preference due to body type or padding style, so we created three different sizes to choose from:   small (24.75"X 15.25"), regular (29.5" X 16.75"), or large (30" X 18").

            Customization:  Wave Dancer Productions has found that painting the interior of the cockpit makes cleaning easier.  Standard color is Natural wood; however, all colors are available from the Hull Color Chart, white being the least expensive.

Seat System

            Personalization: Wave Dancer Productions includes with each kayak a closed cell foam seat.  This seat has two separate layers. These layers can be used together or separated to fit the paddler’s center of gravity and paddling style.  Each of these layers may be sanded to fit the paddler’s bottom for a perfect fit.

            Customization: Wave Dancer Productions does not include a backrest.  We have found that using a flotation device is by far the most comfortable and economical.  We can put into the kayak a back band of the paddler’s choice with an additional charge.

Tracking System

            Standard: We do not include rudders or skegs on any of our kayaks.

            Customization: Wave Dancer Productions uses Kajak Sport* rudder systems and we create our own retractable skegs.
